Fun Activities Near Playa

Xplor

Located 10 minutes south of Playa, this all-inclusive natural park is perfect for an action-packed day with the family! Admire extraordinary rock formations while you cruise along the underground river in the presence of million year old stalactites and stalagmites. Fly through the jungle between trees and bridges in one of their 14 zip lines while you take in the spectacular views form up above like a bird or experience the magic of the jungle at night with Xplor Fuego.

Cenote El Jardín del Eden

Cool off in one of the hundreds of cenotes along the Riviera Maya. These fresh water sink holes are only found in the Yucatán Peninsula and are truly magical. We recommend Jardín del Eden because it is located only 25 min away from Playa and not overrun by tourists. The water is very clear so it is great for snorkelling, especially because of the lush vegetation around the cenote. This is also a great place to go diving. If you wish to see other cenotes, Cenote Cristalino and Cenote Azul are right next door.
Don’t forget to bring your own towels, bio degradable sunscreen and a picnic if you’d like!

This beautiful beach is a 20 minute drive south of Playa. Here you can hire kayaks, wave runners, snorkel gear or even book a fishing trip. It is a favourite among locals and even during high season it’s still pretty uncrowded.
On Saturdays and Sundays, there is live music 2:30 PM
There is an entrance fee of 4$ US per person but this amount will be reimbursed if you spend a minimum of 12$ US at the Restaurant.
It’s open daily from 11 am to 7 pm during summer and until 6 pm during winter

Cozumel

Diving in Cozumel is unlike anything else you’ll experience. With an abundance of marine life and beautiful corals, Cozumel truly lives up to its reputation as the second best diving spot in the world. If you’re not ready to plunge in to the diving world, we suggest snorkelling at El Cielo which means Heaven and gets its name due to the hundreds of starfish that I’ve in shallow waters. You can also see stingrays, turtles and other colourful fish. Even though it’s tempting, please be careful and don’t touch the starfish.
After you’re done with your water activities, we recommend having an early dinner at a restaurant on the beach to watch a spectacular sunset and then take the 30 minute ferry back to Playa.
